Terms of use

What this covers

Submergent 1.0 is distributed directly as a Mac application. It is a paid product and requires an Submergent account. These terms cover your use of the application itself; the pricing page lists the plans and what each one includes.

Plans, trials, and seats

A subscription is per seat and runs for the term you pay for, monthly or yearly, renewing automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the plan until the term you have paid for ends.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are. Charges are final and we do not offer refunds: the 14-day trial is how you decide whether to pay us, and cancelling stops the next renewal while leaving you the term you have already paid for. Where the law where you live gives you a right to a refund, that right stands regardless of this paragraph. Enterprise agreements are governed by the order form signed for them, which takes precedence over this section where the two differ.

Your provider accounts

Submergent connects to provider accounts you supply. Your use of each provider is governed by that provider's own terms, and their charges and limits are between you and them. Submergent does not resell provider access.

What the software does to your files

Submergent gives an AI agent read and write access to folders you register, and can run commands you permit. You choose which folders and which permissions. You are responsible for what you point it at — keep work you care about under version control or backed up.

No warranty

The software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Agent output can be wrong, and a permitted command can have effects you did not intend. Review changes before you rely on them.

Third-party software

Submergent includes open-source components. Their licences and notices are listed on the notices page.
